Each year at our Twilight market we set up a room in which we can take Christmas photos of our patrons with a vintage twist. This year we couldn't find ourselves a Santa so I decided that it didn't matter and we would offer a beautiful and colourful Christmas Vintage Experience.
I found some vintage material in my stash that reminded me off holly berries - I made a Christmas Tree out of some rustic fence boards - I made some baubles out of felt and instead of tinsel I attached some felt strips to a piece of twine. Lastly I bought in the chair I covered in vintage materials for people to pose in. Naomi took the majority of the photo's and I edited them later on. I think our combined project turned out quite beautiful. Full set of pictures here.
As I was loading the photos I did have a giggle at some of the poses, our customers are indeed very funny (in the right way of course). We are so blessed that we have such talent coming to our market.
During set up time I was thrown for six when I received news that I have been give a full time job at a local private school teaching photography and design. I am literally over the moon and simply cannot wait to share whats in my head with future makers and designers. This does mean, however, that I will be giving up managing the market to focus on my new career. Since there has been no buyers locked in to the venture I will be looking for someone to manage it for a year, in which they can test the waters of market management and make a some pocket money for themselves along the way. More news to come on this soon.
Please also pop along and see the other set of beautiful pictures from this year twilight market taken by Naomi - they really are quite something. The twilight market itself was an amazing night - filled with beautiful music - food - makers and wonderful people.
Thankyou to everyone for supporting me on the market managing journey - perhaps we will meet again someday soon.
