MWL Tulipy Fest

{Photos from the talented Look See}

On Saturday was the Tulip Festival in our home town of Wynyard. One of the biggest days in our little town. The tulips are on the cape and the whole town comes to celebrate our region and brave the usually unruly weather.

At Artscape we ran The Made With Love Market Bazaar and ArtsCape ran a lovely little stall down in Gutteridge Gardens amongst the activities. The wind got up towards the end of the day and the rain was sporadic but bearable. It was a good day. We had a lovely market, though I feel our visitor numbers were down a little due to the main Tulip Festival being focused away from the centre of town again.

To see more of the pictures then please pop over to our facebook page for Naomi's full set. She also has a lovely interview with one of my favorite stall holders coming up soon, can't wait for that one.

I have made a big decision about the future of the market - it is too big a job for just one person. It is with a heavy heart that I have offered the market up for sale. The new owner will be getting an absolute bargain of a small business but I must look forward into my future commitment and I would hate to see the management of this beautiful market suffer because of my work situation next year. It has been a beautiful project to work on the last three years but now its time to give it the opportunity to grow beyond what I can offer. All the ground work is done - all the branding and marketing is established - all the equipment has been bought, I really hope someone can see this market not only continue but keep developing and growing. If you know of someone that would like to make a start in artistic and market management then please pass on this information. I would love to find that special person to love and share this fantastic and unique event with.
