Learning a bit of HTML

So of course I have an assignment due on Sunday, then I have to do my last stint as a practicum student before I start to see the very near finish line of my education degree.

Of course this means I would be focused on what lays ahead and how close I am to being done with study for my hopefully very long life ahead, excited by the prospect of handing in my final ever assignement.

The truth is of course I have decided to obsess myself with learning how to make my own blog templates and to completely re-brand my blog.... again. I'm not sure WHY I would do this to myself but I do know that when I have to get something else done I usually do the opposite and then sit around feeling the study guilt and generally crappy.

I will not promise to be a nice person for the next 7 weeks, in fact, I insist that you do your utmost best to not make me snap. If you can't then please just speak to me as little as possible. In fact I may not even be able to form proper sentences as my speaking words start to have a habit of mixing up with my thinking words. Please let me know if you find me walking around speaking gibberish, I think I need to be made aware.

Regardless, I think I am liking my new branding but I still have some way to go before I get to make the changes to the blog that I would like to see operational. As well as learning HTML I have been extensively researching this SEO magic and various linking and blogging tricks to hopefully lift my blogging game to the next level. I am in awe of these people that are so literate of such things.

If you are wondering about the cottage on the new logo - no this is not my house but representational of the cottage industries - the home makers and the backyard bloggers that make up this world of webness. We are makers and I am a Tasmanian maker living in a regional environment but still spreading making goodness to the wider world. Pretty crazy right?

One thing I am particularly aware of is the amount of bloggers that I started with are leaving blogland - in fact I had to have a major clean up of my blog roll to make it relevant to those that are still posting. It makes me a little sad but also I think everyone is feeling an utter media overload. For example just google social media icons to include on a blog you realise how many different forms of social media people are having to deal with. It's beyond overload.

So stay safe my blogging friends - don't let the social media get you down - stay strong and fight the good fight of spreading your wonderfulness on the world. Choose where you want to be and what you want to commit to knowing that with each post I read you are inspiring some poor withered student on her last legs of sanity.
