Home Made Style

So I thought I would show you the three dresses I made for myself last week. I went with my new scrunch waist style that I drafted off a dress I already had. I did not have to spend any money as I had all the materials waiting for me in the woman cave.

All the fabric had come from thrifting and I perhaps used five dollars worth of material. Two out of the three dresses have pockets - the third had a pocket made for it but when I put it against the material I changed my mind. Anyhoo ....woo hoo for new clothes!!

Secondly I made myself some hair product - it ended up kinda like a wax and my hair is loving it. Since I'm not hairdressing anymore I don't get access to cheap high quality products and being generally thrifty (read - tight arse) I thought I would give it a whirl. I read a bit on homemade hair products and pinned a few pins but in the end I decided to just go for it with what I had on hand. I used equal parts organic coconut oil and bees wax with a dash of aloe vera juice. I heated it in the microwave for 30 seconds then whipped it like hell to mix it together successfully. It sat in the fridge for a couple of hours then - hey presto - home made controlling product with a spot of moisture.
Next time if I was going to change it I would add less aloe vera and few drops of something that smelled yummy.
What did you home make this week?
