Un-Earth Tasmania

Triple J - Australia's non comercial radio station.
No teeny bopper songs played 100 times a day just to annoy you... its diverse - blues and roots - heavy metal - hip hop and alternative music. I have been religiously following its play lists for over 15 years. For non Australians - you can stream it online. I feel like it captures the sound of my generation (except for the heavy metal - which I hate), and it contributes to my wide and varied range of music tastes - hence why you will see a lot of genres featured on this blog.

The two songs at the top of this post are from a competition/launching platform that the station runs regularly called - Unearthed - but this one - Unearthed High is for high school students. Unearthed has started so many now famous musical careers in Australia and beyond. No one else in Australia is more supportive of new talent. The two songs above come from their last winner - who is also from Tasmania. I cant believe the depth and maturity of her songs - Amaze-balls for a 17 yr old. I have a bit of a crush on her. Truely fantastic work and congratulations on your win. I am sure you will see plenty more of Asta in the future.

I don't care what your feelings are for Triple J - I know there are a lot of haters for the station but most of those follow commercial channels and like listening to the same songs over and over and over and over....
You have to give Triple J credit - no one else in this country does for music what it does - and I appreciate it - like a lot. Thansk Triple J for giving me the sound track to my life - where would I be without you xoxoxo
