Mr Graeme and Mr Bates

Readers of my blog will know about my Greame dolls...the funny little doll sporting a beard.
Recently I have been having a lovely spot of custom orders and one of them being for a personalised Graeme Doll for an artist in the UK. I am not sure how we virtually "met" but I think it was through Redbubble, then it has been transferred to other social media such as facebook over the years.
Mr Pauli Bates {artist name hmmmbates) wanted one that was styled in his image - Mr Pauli Bates kind of already looked like Graeme - so that was handy.

It was decided that the doll would feature one of the artists works on his top - a gold chain around his neck - glasses and baseball cap.

I just adore the finished product - hes my little home boy Graeme Pauli.

It took me a bit longer than I expected as I had to work out some fiddly bits like the necklace, the hat and the t-shirt transfer...but at the end of the day I was happy with the result.

One other little funny Graeme story - at the market on the weekend - a baby about 18 months old grabbed one of my Graeme's (one sporting a lovely moe and looked a little french), he would not let it go and clinged to it with all his might. The little fella was so enamored that he cried when they tried to take the tag off and he thought his parents were taking it off him. The parents were obviously forced to buy it for him (which was fine by me - hee hee) but I gave them a discount as I felt a bit bad of their situation. I have never seen a little one so instantly attached to a toy and apparently he has not let it out of his sight so far. It was a fair bit cute I must say.

I feel everyone should have a Graeme in their life - rememeber if your Dad doesn't have a beard you have two Mums
Hee Hee
