Melbourne

People spewing out of the footy game.

Last weekend we went to Melbourne to catch up with my Dad and the family. We were also treated to Cirque du Soleil performance. I have always want to see Cirque du Soleil but unfortunately is was not meant to be. My family was delayed by a traffic incident on the high way, we had 20 mins to shoot across town to the Rod Laver arena, we got the wrong directions about where to the stop off the train and ran enormous Melbourne blocks to get there. Still after all this we arrived ten minutes late and missed the first bit.

Any mother will understand what i am about to say...it is not advisable to take a near three year old to a performance when you are situated so far from the action of the stage. Other issues in the first half  of the performance 1. decided to get us all water after the run 2. One wee stop 3. One poo break (both from the three year old, i'm sure you don't need to hear about my bathroom habits). Interval, then the second half started 1. little girl asked to read a book 2. little girl asked to go home numerous times 3. little girl sat on my knee, blocked my view, kicked the lady in front of us, and tickled me with her pig tails. I did see a bit, enjoyed it but kept trying to tell Miss G about what was happening hoping to grab her attention...till i got told to"don't tell me to see Mum"...bugger.

The rest of the weekend was far more relaxing with a trip to the Docklands for shopping and lunch, footy games, family time, a trip to Lygon street and the Elephant and the Wheelbarrow (not often we get a night time baby sitter in a big city). Melbourne i do adore your fashion and food  {heart} you do it so well.

Nom Nom Nom

Next time i would adore time to scout out the op shops and the St Kilda Market. Why does a 45 min plane trip take so long to organise and be so expensive..seriously when will they build a bridge for us to nick over on??? Till next time Melbourne...stay cool, i'll be back.
