That awkward moment......

That awkward moment when you have spent three days on a project and realise you have made a massive mistake that will take days to fix. So the dilemma it as you first saw it in your head or leave it and hope other people don't realise. I mean after all it was your idea in the first place. No one but you knows how it is "supposed" to look but is it worth looking at it that way for the rest of the finished products life?? Oh the dilemma's!!!

When it comes to sewing i must admit i usually take the lazy way out. I hate tacking, hemming and doing all those fiddly fussy things. I just want to get on and "do it". Claire stressed to me one day that i MUST iron when sewing. With i sigh i obeyed. I remember looking at my finished project and seeing the quality and standard of my work just go up 100 notches. I also used to be lazy when it came to painting. I always found the priming of canvas's so tedious. I just wanted to get on and get stuck in as the moment hit me. I learned in a class how to prime canvas's correctly and also saw the quality of the finished product was a lot higher. I guess if you want to be taken seriously and actually sell your work then laying those invisible foundations are an absolute must.

Lastly i don't care about doing those things now, in fact i never miss doing the fiddly invisible bits or try to cut corners anymore...but i am still not fixing that damn mistake that i made today. I'll learn to live with it.
