Happy Face

This may not look like much to you but this represents for me one proud muma.

One day i over heard a young girl ask her mother to teach her to knit in the craft section of spotty. The Mum a bit choked answered "Of course!". It was probably a dream of hers also to be one day asked by her daughter to teach her a craft that she also takes pleasure in. I also got a little teary  (Miss G was still a baby) and secretly hoped that G would one day ask me to teach her art/craft. Some people get sad if their child walks or talks first whilst in care. I was shattered when G came home with her first painting in her bag that i hadn't done with her. I thought she was too young...i was wrong regretfully.

We always hope that our kids want to participate in what we love, but i am scared to push it too much in-case her stubbornness kicks in and she totally rejects it. She loves to sit with me while i sew, make necklaces, craft, glue and dashes into my art studio every time i open the door. I have even found her in there after i had accidentally left the door open, it shut behind her, and i had nearly had a heart attack when i couldn't find her. She didn't respond to my yelling her name as she was 1. Not meant to be in there without me 2. had a paint brush and old paint plate in her hand. I don't think i have much to worry about her not wanting to get crafty.

So back to the picture. Miss G has been drawing "Happy faces" for a long time and i knew she was getting better. I was not prepared to turn around and find this adorable happy face looking more like a happy face rather than a confused circle with three dots and a line on it. Pretty good i think for a two and a half year old. I asked if i could have it and she handed it over. I couldn't lose this one to ripping and so forth. Lucky me!

Not too bad baby girl, not too bad xox.
