Mary Mary (how does your garden grow?)

This year i really got stuck into my garden. I grew zucchinis, cucumbers, spinach, pak choy, rocket, cauliflowers, broccoli, garlic, potatoes, rhubarb, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, herbs, cabbage, eggplant and tomatoes.
With some of the extra produce i made pickles, relish, rhubarb champagne, beetroot marmalade(my fav with double brie cheese and crackers), and various other gourmet dishes rhubarb pie, eggplant pasta, multiple zucchini dishes (you zucchini growers know how out of control it gets!)

Pak Choy, Eggplant and Tomatoes.

Next on the plan is too grow over winter as well...i had some compost ready to go and pea straw for mulch. I was waiting on things to die back a little so i don't feel bad about turning stuff over before their time....but today i hit it hard, mulch, compost, and winter vegetables....needless to say that my back is now killing me and i am struggling to bend to sit on the toilet. I also moved the rhubarb which i "carefully" divided using the shovel...hope it survives...poor thing.

Over Christmas i started drinking my home made wine i had made a couple of years earlier. My favorite of the lot was the carrot wine...yes yes i know...yuk..but it was really yum..tasted like a musket port.

Rhubarb Champagne about to explode out of the bottle.

Beets and Rhubarb...bumper crop this year.

Baby G bringing in the leafy greens and another thing we "grew"...some Indian Runner ducks. ..this one was rescued and bought inside and spent the night in the cupboard..hence his name "Cupboardy".
Ted staring in both pictures.

I love the garden. I love contributing to the table from the garden. I love getting my hands dirty (with gloves on of course, i hate ruining my black nail polish).
Tomorrow i am going to turn some more of the veggie patch into preserves and relishes..yum yum....must get some bottles ready.
